Taking a fluid approach by working on several things at the same time gives me a clear playing field and more interaction with
the material. Most of my sculptures have a re-composable existence.
This is a quality that I relate to old toys like Mechano or the old Lego. Therefore I see my sculptures like shape shifters that float between categories like tool, product and sculpture.
I can relate to Richard Artschwager when he explains that there was a point were the things he made were no longer useful or useless but merely his daily companions.I want to find a place between borders where I can stand still and were the objects I make do not only companion me but also each other.
